Julio A. Saviñon, MD

Dr. Saviñon is Board Certified Internal Medicine Physician. He is also Board Certified by the American Board of Obesity Medicine. Dr. Saviñon has over 17 years in the practice of medicine and is a registered member of the Physicians Committee for Responsible Medicine.

Teaching Appointment: Since 2002, Dr. Saviñon has served as adjunct associate professor for the Regional Academic Health Center ( RAHC ).



Maricruz Rivera-Bloomquist, MSN, FNP-BC

Maricruz Rivera-Bloomquist is a native of Weslaco, TX who graduated from Weslaco High School in 1989 and pursued an education in nursing beginning in Kansas. Mari acquired a scholarship for volleyball in Kansas, but later transferred and played volleyball for the University of Texas – Pan America in Edinburg, TX.

Mari graduated with her first nursing degree in 1994, and began practicing as a Registered Nurse for Rio Grande Regional Hospital and later, transitioned into the home health nursing arena. In 1998, Mari began working for Knapp Medical Center where she worked full time until 2010. Mari did not feel educationally complete; therefore, she returned to school while working at Knapp Medical Center and graduated from UTPA with her Master’s degree in nursing, MSN, with specialty in Family Nurse Practitioner (FNP) in May of 2010.

Mari currently holds a Texas Registered Nurse license and Advance Practice Registered Nurse license through the Texas Board of Nurse Examiners. Mari is also board certified as a Family Nurse Practitioner through American Nurses Credentialing Center (ANCC) and is a member of the Sigma Theta Tau International Honor Society of Nursing.

Today, Maricruz Rivera-Bloomquist MSN, FNP-BC, is practicing the profession she enjoys, with Dr. Julio Savinon, MD / Internal Medicine in Harlingen, TX. Mari is married to Mr. Kevin H. Bloomquist, and has 3 children, Brittany, Blake and Brock, they reside in Weslaco, TX.



KADY MARIE VEGA, MSN, FNP-C

Kady Marie Vega born and raised in Harlingen, Texas graduated from Harlingen High School in 2004. Envisioned her life taking care of others and helping her community with healthcare obstacles; started her nursing career in 2008 as a Licensed Vocational Nurse. Climbing up the ladder of the many opportunities of nursing obtained an Associate's Degree in Nursing and began working as a Registered Nurse in 2009 at Harlingen Medical Center. The hospital setting was a great opportunity to learn the many skills in the acute care setting. Kady spent most of her years at Harlingen Medical Center working on the Medical Surgical Unit, Orthopedics, and Pediatrics Unit. Kady, later pursed a Bachelor's Degree in Science andNursing in December 2012 she received her nursing degrees from the University of Texas at Brownsville/Texas Southmost College. Knowing that she has always envisioned herself helping her community in ways to improve healthcare outcomes, she then pursed a Master's Degree in Nursing specializing as a Family Nurse Practitioner (FNP) from Downsergrove, Illinois in May 2016.

Kady currently holds a Licensed Vocational Nursing License, a Registered Nurse License and an Advanced Practice Registered Nurse license specializing in Family all from the Texas Board of Nurse Examiners.

Kady is also certified through the American Association of Nurse Practitioners. Kady Marie Vega MSN, FNP-C is working with a team of providers Dr. Julio Savinon RIVcrT.a and Maricurz Þ£f•a- Bloomquist MSN, FNP-BC in internal medicine and looking forward to helping patients achieve their healthcare goals. Kady is married and has three children.
